Brady Singer tossed six strong innings and Sal Stewart launched a solo homer as the Cincinnati Reds edged the San Francisco Giants 2-1 on Monday night at Great American Ball Park. The win improved the Reds to 10-7 as Singer picked up his first victory of the season.

Singer Delivers

Singer earned the win with six innings of one-run ball, scattering six hits while striking out one. The right-hander leaned on his sinker to generate ground-ball outs and kept the Giants' lineup off balance after Willy Adames' solo home run gave San Francisco an early 1-0 lead.

Stewart Powers the Offense

Sal Stewart answered Adames' homer with a solo shot of his own to tie the game, then the Reds pushed across the go-ahead run to take a 2-1 lead. Stewart continued his torrid stretch at the plate, maintaining one of the highest batting averages on the team.

Bullpen Locks It Down

Graham Ashcraft struck out two in a scoreless seventh, Tony Santillan worked a clean eighth, and Emilio Pagán earned his fifth save with a scoreless ninth to complete the victory.

The series continues Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park.
